Meet Robin R. Robinson!!!

1.  Tell the people who you are:

Hi there, my name is Robin R Robinson and I was born and raised in Sacramento, California; however, I lived in Los Angeles - twice.  The first time for 10 years and the second time for 7 years.  I am hoping to relocate this summer, either back to LA, or Dallas Texas where my son and grandson live.
2.  What is the name of your book?

Chocolate Lemons and Peppermint Tears: The Bittersweet Life of Xena.  I came up with the title while I was working on the book (the old fashioned way – with a legal pad and a pen) in LA.  The television was on (very lightly) in the background but I wasn’t watching it.  Robin Leach’s Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous was on and I heard Robin say “champagne wishes and caviar dreams.”  In about 3 seconds I thought of the title of my book.  Actually, I believe it was God who whispered the title in my ear because it was so effortless and it felt and sounded so right.

3. What is the genre of your book?

I consider it women’s fiction with an urban slant. Xena, the protagonist, is in her mid-thirties, so my demographic is (primarily) black women who are 30-55 years old.  Obviously, I would like all women (over 18) to read it; however, since it’s set in the mid-1990′s, women who were in their early-mid 30′s in the mid 90′s might relate to it more.

4.  A bit about the book…

Xena, is an educated, savvy, creative, attractive, independent black woman who has many issues:  trying desperately to get over a married man (that’s why she moves (back) to LA), her perceived weight problem (she’s always battling with those extra 10 – 15 pounds that no one can see except for her), wearing her hair in a short ‘fro in a city where most women buy their hair (Xena is definitely not a conformist), her best friend Renee who has an “I don’t give a damn” attitude and a potty mouth to go along with it, finally meeting and falling in love with “the one,” and a mind-boggling ending that involves her ex and her present lover.  It’s a fast, fun, and funny read.  Raw Sistaz gave it a 4 star review.
The book started out as a short story for the Essence short story contest (in 1990).  I didn’t win, however, I really liked the direction of the story and I built the book around that.

5.  Where can readers reach you?

Check out my website:  www.robinrrobinson.com  where you can read my blog or you can check me out on Facebook (Robin R Robinson).  I really look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you

Meet Author Nanette Buchanan

1.      Tell the people who you are?

My name is Nanette M. Buchanan.  I am a resident of New Jersey, born and raised in Newark. Currently I am working for the State of New Jersey as a Corrections Officer.  I am an author.  I write poetry, children stories and novels.

2.      What is the name of your book?

My latest novel is entitled “Bruised Love”.

3.      What is the genre of your book?

Suspenseful Romance

4.      Tell us a bit about your book and talk a bit about its subject matter and its importance to you.

The leading character in “Bruised Love”- Cassandra Smith has had a life filled without love…..after the death of her father she felt she lost it all.  Her mother dealing with her own grief neglected to embrace her daughter.  Cassandra fell for the neighborhood “playa” who became an abusive lover and the father of her four children.  The drama continues with “other women, drug deals, abuse and her mother’s bout with cancer.  Cassandra returns home to find the true meaning of love, support, and responsibilities- a lesson that leads to jealousy, betrayal and murder.  Relationships throughout our life are not predetermined.  Who we love and who loves us is not a matter of what their claimed title is.  There are many who believe because you are my mother, father, husband, spouse, or child there must be love between us.  Each of us has to earn a level of love that supports our relationships in the good times and the bad.  When our expectations of love are not met we can’t just walk away……only to be hurt again by our next relationship.  Each chapter, each relationship has to have closure or healing cause if we leave it with a bruise it is certainly not going to heal.

5.      Tell us where readers can reach you.

Meet Author Deondriea Cantrice

CV: Tell the people who you are?

DC: Deondriea Cantrice of Denver, CO by way of East Chicago, IN.

CV: What is the name of your book(s)?

DC: Rhythm Can’t Keep Time, Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough

CV: What is the genre of your book(s)?

DC: Erotica/Urban Romance

CV: Tell us a bit about your book(s) and talk a bit about its subject matter and its importance to you.

DC: Rhythm Can’t Keep Time is an exploration of a relationship between a woman that is in love with a man that just loves, and the pitfalls of haphazardly loving in an undefined relationship. Sheridyn confuses the passion of love making with the intimacy of love. While Sterling enjoys being with a woman that doesn’t require him to commit. This steamy novel is important to me because I was able to use a fictional story to address a common issue that is not commonly addressed. The issue is mistaking the look of love for an act of love.  Readers are engaged because they can easily connect with the villain, victim, or victor in the storyline.

CV: Tell us where readers can reach you.

DC: Readers can find me at www.rhtyhmcantkeeptime.com, www.deondriea.com, and on most social networks and Ning sites with the  screen name Deondriea.

Meet Davis Jackson!!!

Office Affairs by Caramel Vixen

Davis Jackson is a hot commodity, and why wouldn’t he be? I want him, too.
He’s sexy as sin, with a heart of gold…as well as other organs. ;-)

I’ve had women of all ages, races, and marital statuses, ask me if Davis Jackson really exsisted, and if so, where was he, because they wanted him!!! Or at least wanted his single brother. :-)

Unfortunately, Davis only has eyes and a heart for Allysia, the BBW (big beautiful woman) of his dreams.

Here’s an excerpt from Davis’ point of view. Enjoy!

(Disclaimer: The following excerpt is explicit and for mature audiences only.)

Davis was sleeping soundly in the king-sized bed that he once shared with Carmen, his departed wife. God, how he missed that beautiful woman! At the same time, he longed for Allysia. Had Carmen been alive he wouldn’t see Allysia as anything more than a friend. As sexy as that woman was his devotion to his wife was dear to his heart. But Carmen wasn’t alive. Cancer had taken her away from him and his attraction to Allysia was very real.

Davis had dreamt of Carmen. She had given him her approval of Allysia. And no sooner than he took her into his arms she disappeared into the same thin air from where she appeared. This time he wasn’t sad though. This time he felt at peace. And when a very thick, sexy, and sassy Allysia appeared, he felt horny as hell and they made passionate love for hours on end.

“Get off of me, Davis! I wanna swallow every drop,” Allysia instructed him, her
voice filled with passion. He loved her take-charge attitude. Just before he released his love juices in Allysia’s mouth, Carmen appeared in the doorway with tears rolling down her face. Before he could run to her and grab her, she disappeared.

Davis awoke in a cold sweat with tears running down his face. He looked over at his alarm clock. It was just ten minutes before time to get up and get Tyshawn ready for school. He got up and went to the bathroom to wash his face. The last thing he wanted was for Tyshawn to see him crying. He then went back into his bedroom, turned off the alarm clock, and headed down the hallway to wake his son.

No Matter What by Caramel Vixen

Jenay Collins finds something magical when she meets Ramone Flores. He’s physically attractive but more importantly, his poetry stimulates her intellect. In Jenay’s opinion, Ramone is certainly a keeper.

Problem? Ramone isn’t Black and Jenay isn’t Puerto Rican. His family trips and so does hers. Will the chaos cause the two lovebirds to back away from what they know in their hearts is true love? Or are they determined to be together, no matter what?
